Relative pronouns (qui, que, dont, où)
Relative pronouns join two clauses by standing in for a noun already mentioned.\n\n- qui = subject of the relative clause: *l'homme qui parle* (the man who speaks).\n- que = direct object: *le livre que je lis* (the book that I read).\n- dont = replaces de + noun: *le film dont je parle* (the film I'm talking about).\n- où = place or time: *la ville où j'habite / le jour où il est venu*.
